NASA's Thoughts On Random Vibration Testing

Posted on Jul 5th, 2012 by marybabitz

A good part of my work day is spent filtering through a wide variety of testing related information posted to the web.  Today I came across this NASA tutorial on how NASA uses random vibration testing for flight hardware and payloads.  Most of us aren't launching things into space (yet).... but it's a good read if you want to learn some of the justifications, reasoning and vibration test profiles NASA uses in vibration testing of flight hardware.  No surprise to see NASA refer to the "gold standard" MIL-STD 810http://microgravity.grc.nasa.gov/pmwg/htmls/Random%20Vibration.pdf

Cascade TEK is well versed in MIL-STD 810 random vibration testing.   Let us know if we can help.  info@cascadetek.com
